Fortify your strength

“…keep the fortress and ramparts manned, watch the road, gird your loins, collect and fortify all your strength and power mightily.  For the Lord restores the excellency of [insert your name here].” Adapted from Nahum 2:1-2 AMP

When you are at wits end, when you’ve lost it all, when nothing seems to be working out, when all the odds are against you, when you don’t have a leg to stand on… STAND  FIRM!!  Now is the time to take every ounce of strength, every ounce of faith, and every ounce of joy you still have, combine them all together, hold tight to them, keep moving forward, and know that God has taken the lead; He’s getting ready for perform great wonders in your life.

Yes, one thing I’m learning about God, is it is in times of great loss, suffering, and pain when He performs His most amazing miracles and restorations – and yours, my friend, is right around the corner.  Therefore, be patient and let God take your pain and turn it into a miracle; let Him take your pain and restore you to wholeness; let Him take your pain and turn it into greatness!

Inside and out

“…He knew them inside and out…”
John 2:23-25 MSG

Point to ponder:
No matter the front we put on to the outside world, Jesus knows each and every one of us, inside and out. So, if that thought makes you uncomfortable in any way, it could very well mean some internal cleansing is in order.

Stay in the Light

“There once was a man, his name was John, sent by God to point out the way to the Life-Light… John was not himself the Light; he was there to show the way to the Light.”  John 1:6-8 MSG

Like John, we Christians – children called by, and of, God – need to follow suit.  We are not here because we are the Light, but to show and share the Light to others living in darkness.  So, take a moment and ask yourself, “Am I living like the Light, talking like the Light, and loving like the Light?”.  If ‘No’ happens to be the answer to any one of the questions then maybe rededication to Christ is in order; time to get your footing back on our solid Foundation and live and give the kind of life you were handcrafted to live.

Jesus never leaves you

“In the middle of their talk and questions, Jesus came and walked along with them… He sat down at the table with them…” Luke 24:13-16, 28-31 MSG

Where is Jesus?  He is right in the midst of you!!!
All you have to do is clean out your ears from all the worldly noise, open the eyes of your heart to the light in the darkness, and feel Him with your heart . He is with you right now – he is with you always.

Is your door open to God?

Although you may be a long time believer in Christ, are you sure you haven't closed the door toward Him to come into certain areas of your life?  Think for a moment, what are you trying to do on your own because either you don't think God is doing it fast enough, or because you know it isn't the right thing to be doing?  Answer honestly.  Whatever it is, back off, open your arms wide, and allow the Spirit of Christ to come and take care of it; let the Spirit of Christ work through your life.  Until you do, your plans will never go as you'd like, nor will they ever be successful for any length of time.

My friend, answer the door and let God take of whatever it is you've been trying to take care of on your own.

No sleep or slumber in Christ

"He got up from prayer, went back to the disciples and found them asleep, drugged by grief. He said, “What business do you have sleeping? Get up. Pray so you won’t give in to temptation.”

Luke 22:45-46The Message (MSG)

There is absolutely no moment in life when we think we can put Jesus off until later, especially if we have a moment where we actually have the gall to say to ourselves, "I am so busy that I am ok to put off prayers, faith and worship, and God's Word until another time."!!  Friends, those are thoughts from Satan himself and they need to be immediately thrown out!    Therefore, no slumber in Christ!  Stay in prayer, faith and worship, and God's Word, otherwise you'll end up finding yourself at the bottom of a dark pit struggling to find the light of Christ to lead you back out.

https://patrickstreetcofc.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/proverbs-6-4-5.jpg?w=640

The glass half full.

"But as for me, I will look to the Lord and confident in Him I will keep watch; I will wait with hope and expectancy for the God of my salvation, my God will hear me.
Rejoice not against me, O my enemy! When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in the darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me." Micah 7:7-8 AMP

Micah has the right kind of attitude; one that we should all partake in! There are too many people out there living in constant gloom, doom; waiting for something bad to happen, and never seeing the good in any given situation.  We, as children of God need to be different!  When we have God, we have light, we have hope, we have something to look forward to everyday.  Yes, we should find something good in every bad situation.

Satan and our own sins bring bad situations, but God is good, and there can be no bad situation in Him.  So, whatever you've gotten yourself into, whatever someone has told you is bad, whatever confusion, frustration, negativity, or darkness comes at you - find the good!  It is there, because God is there.  God is everywhere, and He is only good!  Don't give up until you find it; and when you find it - rejoice and hold on to it!

God didn't put you here to live with a glass half empty attitude.  He put you here to live in joy, in peace, in victory, in love, in prosperity!  Right now, take a frustration in your life and find the good.  Don't leave the spot you are in until you do.  It's there!  Look for it; pray for God to show you - He will!  From there, take that piece of good and run forward!  Hold on to it, (no matter how small it is), and don't let it go!  I'll put my life on the fact that if you do grab hold of the good, it will multiply and overpower the negative.  Try it!  Everyday - try it.  No, actually, don't try it - DO IT!  Your life will begin to turn to light, your tears will begin to dry up, and your wounds will begin to heal.

You are a child of God.  You are called to be the kind of person with a glass half full attitude.  So, take that call!  Be different from the norm, and see if the environment, mentallity, and world you live in doesn't change for the better!  Blessings will begin to rain down, hope will fill you, and life will be something you want to embrace to the fullest, because you know, that you know, that you know, God has gazzillion of miracles just for you!  All you have to do is look with your heart for them.

Praise God! Hallelujah!

Forgiveness, comfort, and encouragement

"... so instead [of further rebuke, now] you should rather [graciously] forgive and comfort and encourage him, to keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive sorrow...to keep Satan from taking advantage of us..." 2 Corinthians 2:7,11

Forgiveness, comfort, and encouragement toward another not only brings light and life to the darkness on both sides, but it stops Satan dead in his tracks leaving him without a leg to stand on.

Risk equals Faith

"He said, 'That's what I mean:  Risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of.  Play it safe and end up holding the bag." Luke 19:26 MSG

Be bold and risk your life (step out in faith) for Jesus.  Guaranteed, you will experience His amazing glory shine through you in ways you never thought possible.

Innocence

"... Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in." Luke 18:15-17 MSG

Hence: Receive God's Word as is, adding nothing to it, taking nothing away from it.  What is written, IS: easy, plain and simple, yes and no, right and wrong... life or death.

Real or fake?

"... So Jesus spoke to them: "You are masters at making yourselves look good in front of others, but God knows what's behind the appearance..."  Luke 16:14-18 MSG

We cannot hide from God, nor can our real selves be hidden from others forever.  Therefore, let's all do ourselves a favor and just be the unique, gifted, corny, beings that we are, letting the glory of Jesus shine through all of our quirks, weaknesses, and mistakes.  We will definitely be a lot better off if we do.

Proud of the way God made you

“… If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face.  But if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.” Luke 14:10-11 MSG

Be yourself – simply yourself: beautiful, bright, and proud to be just the way God made you.

Strive to enter through the narrow gate

“Strive to enter by the narrow door [force yourselves through it], for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.” Luke 13:24 AMP

The narrow door is the gateway to Heaven, to God’s heart, and to eternal salvation; those who enter through it leave legacies of blessings to many a people.

So strive, every day, to be a blessing to everyone around you – give them a glimpse of God, so that when you are called, you will be one of the few who get to walk through the beautiful, narrow gates to Heaven.

Time, energy, and effort.

Then he said, How can I picture Gods kingdom for you?... Its like a pine nut that a man plants It grows into a huge pine tree with thick branches, and eagles build nests in it Its like yeast that a woman works into enough dough and waits while the dough rises.  Luke 13:18-21

The way to god takes lots of time, energy, and effort; if you truly want him to be the center and head of your life, then you must dig in and do the work through prayer, reading, devotion, listening, waiting, learning from other believers, and putting actions behind your faith.

So, can you handle it?  I hope so because, guaranteed, youll be so glad you did!!

Great gifts mean great responsibility

“… Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibility!”  Luke 12:47-48 MSG

Hence, if we want all the blessings that God has in store for us, then we must fully, 110%, take on the responsibilities that comes with it… if we don’t, we’ll quickly see those great gifts taken from us.

Missing out.

"... Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.  You'll find your everyday human concerns will be met.  Don't be afraid of missing out.  You're my dearest friends!  The Father wants to  give you the very kingdom itself."  Luke 12:29-32. MSG

When our lives revolve around Christ, we never miss out on anything in this life.  Actually, quite the opposite.  When our lives revolve around Christ, the only things we miss out on are the things that God knows won't be good for us.
So, look at this way: if we don't have it, it is probably because He is protecting us from harm, and he has something much, much better for us anyway.

Just ask! Be direct!

"Ask and you'll get;
Seek and you'll find;
Knock and the door will open.

"Don't bargain with God.  Be direct.  Ask for what you need.  This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we're in..."
(Luke 11:9-13 MSG)

Stop playing around: Simply ask God for what you need, ask in the name of Jesus, thank and praise Him that it will come to pass, and move on.  No phony bologna!  Just ask!  Be direct!

Thank you God!!

“… the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you.  Not what you do for God but what God does for you – that’s the agenda for rejoicing.”  Luke 10:18-20 MSG

Remember :
The great and mighty blessings, feats, and joys in our lives happen because of God’s great might, not our own.  So, boast about, and give all glory to God when blessings happen in your life (otherwise, they may not be your blessings to keep for long).

God: First, foremost, front, and center!

“Jesus said, “No procrastination.  No backward looks.  You can’t put God’s kingdom off till tomorrow.  Seize the day.”  Luke 9:62 MSG

God FIRST and FOREMOST - FRONT and CENTER in your life, at all times and in all things.

Anyhow, if you don’t put God first, before everything and anything in your life, then there won’t be everything and anything for you in life worth having.

Image result for God show be first and foremost in your life

You never know?

"... So stay awake, alert.  You have no idea what day your Master will show up..." Matthew 24:39-44 MSG

Good reminder for us all!  We cannot, absolutely cannot, get lazy in living for Christ.  For we do not   know the hour of his arrival, but boy-oh-boy, we are sure going to want to be ready for it!  Therefore, stay focused on living for God and God alone... He's the One that we definitely don't want to miss!

Sometimes moving on is the best option.

Later, a great many people from the Gerasene countryside got together and asked Jesus to leave  too much change, too fast, and they were scared.  So Jesus got back in the boat and set off…” Luke 8:37-39 MSG

There will be people that wont accept us in this life, not because of who we are, or what we do, but because of their own fears and insecurities.  So, like Jesus, when this happens, the best thing we can do is quietly and kindly turn and walk away; leave and let them be.

Words and deeds.

“… It’s who you are, not what you say and do, that counts.  Your true being brims over into true words and deeds.” Luke 6:43-45 MSG

What do your words and deeds say about you?  Think about this question, and think about it whole-heartedly, there just may be some heart and mouth changes that need to take place... yes?

A promise is a promise

"...A promise is a promise. What difference does it make if you make your promise inside or outside a house of worship? A promise is a promise. God is present, watching and holding you to account regardless."
Matthew 23:16-12 MSG

Whether you promise with your mouth, actions, or on paper, remember: A promise is a promise, period! And, God will hold you accountable for it.  Therefore, before you promise without thinking, or just to save face, (figuring you'll come up with an excuse to get out of it later), remember who's present, listening and watching, and He is counting on you to do the right thing.

Guidance from God

Words of God’s wisdom from Luke 6, MSG:

“… Your task is to be true, not popular.” (26)

“… Love your enemies.  Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst.” (27-30)

“… Don’t condemn… be easy on people…” (37-38)

“… Give away your life; you'll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. … Giving, not getting, is the way…” (37-38)

Maybe one of these grabs your attention more than the others – focus on it.  Ask God, pray, and let him do the changing within you.

Be yourself

"Do you want to stand out? Then step down.   Be a servant. If you puff yourself up, you'll get the wind knocked out of you. But if you're content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty."  Matthew 23:11-12 MSG

If you want to be an amazing example to others, then simply be yourself.  You are amazing being you and only you!

God's Word can conquer the unconquerable!

"For forty wilderness days and nights [Jesus] was tested by the Devil... Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy... The Devil retreated temporarily, lying in wait for another opportunity."
Adapted from Luke 4:1-13

Three things:

One
We will be tested in this world, as Jesus was tested when he walked with us in this world, by the Devil.

Two
We can defeat the threats and temptations of Satan by using the Word of God as our ammunition, as it is exactly what Jesus did to defeat Satan when he was in the wilderness for forty days and nights.

Three:
We must continue to dig into the Word of God, live by his Spirit, (which is living in us), quote, speak, pray, and believe His Word with all our mind, body, and soul, and speak it to the Devil, because the Devil is always lying in wait, waiting for our weak moments in life so he can destroy us.

God's Word can conquer the unconquerable!

Without a care in the world

“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; he came and set his people free… Just as he promised long ago… So we can worship him without a care in the world… made holy before him as long as we live.” Luke 1:67-79 MSG

As believers, we have been set free, we have a new life given onto us, and our cares are God’s cares.  This means that we can give him all our worries and anxieties and live our everyday lives in a calm delight.  So… are you living your everyday life in a calm delight? Boy, I sure want to, but I find myself spending many days in worry, fret, hurry, frustration, and weariness.  If you find yourself in the same boat as me, let’s begin to challenge ourselves; let’s give God what we can’t control, and take the opportunity in each and every situation - good or bad - to find the good in it.  Let’s dig deeper into God, and not in the world.  Otherwise we are going to be continually wasting our lives away on nonsense, on things of the world - things that really don’t matter when all is said and done.

Impossible? Not a chance.

“… Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.” Luke
1:36-38 MSG

Nothing, (not anything), is impossible with God!  Everything and anything are all possible with God.
So, dream it, believe it, bring it unto God and he will bring the impossible unto you!

Believers are so powerful!

“These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well.”
Mark 16:17-18

As believers we are so powerful.  Powerful because the Spirit of Christ died on the cross and rose again in Spirit, living in each and every one of us.  We have power and ability, all because we have been given the Spirit of sweet Jesus.  Therefore as believers - BELIEVE - we can do ALL things through Christ Jesus!

https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0915/3014/products/il_fullxfull.1082106456_s34u_large.jpg?v=1486225555

Jesus is the driver.

"...Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead.  You're not in the driver's seat; I am.  Don't run from suffering; embrace it.  Follow me and I'll show you how.  Self-help is no help at all.  Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self."  Matthew 16:24-26 MSG

If anything, remember this:
Honey, you ain't all it - Jesus is!  So, let Him drive your life, and he will give you it in full, until it overflows (John 10:10)!

Keep Satan under your feet

“… stay alert, be in prayer, so you don’t enter the danger zone without even knowing it.  Don’t be naïve.  Part of you is eager, ready for anything in God; but another part is as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire.”
Mark 14:37-38 MSG

No matter how long we’ve been faithful followers of Christ, it is absolutely imperative that we never get the idea that we are strong enough to never fall into Satan’s traps and temptations.  Satan is a snake, and he loves nothing more than to bring a Christian to their knees; he never stops trying, which means we must never get lazy in praying, reading, and believing in God and His Word.

Therefore, stay strengthened in Christ: daily spend time with him, and, daily, make sure to tell Satan that he is nothing but ashes under your feet.

Let’s live Jesus out loud and proud!

“… God at the bush said to Moses, ‘I am – not was… The living God is God of the living, not the dead…” Mark 12:24-27 MSG

God IS ALIVE!

Look around.  Every living being, creature, and creation are alive because God IS alive!  Therefore, as believers, we need to start living like we are alive; not down, dark, mopey human-beings, barely making our way through this life of ours.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s wake up and fill this dark world with life, beautiful life, filled with Christ’s glory.  We only get this one shot, so let’s embrace it - not waste it!

Let’s live Jesus out loud and proud!

The more you know about Jesus...

Jesus said: "... Then you see how every student well trained in God's kingdom is like the owner of a general store who can put his hands on anything you need, old or new, exactly when you need it."  Matthew 13:52 MSG

Get to know Jesus through the power of the Word, and by prayers and wonder, because the more you know him, the less you have to worry about; whatever you need when you need it will be yours for the taking.

Don't discredit anyone in your life

"...That stone the masons threw out
is now the cornerstone..."
Mark 12:9-11 MSG

Jesus gives us fair warning:  No one, absolutely no one, that comes into our lives should be discredited, (yes, even evil ones, for even when a vile, evil, person(s) comes into our lives, we can give all the credit to Satan, and know to move on and stay away - let God deal with them).  As well, we must remember we are no better than anyone, whether we think of them as important or not!  Everyone is important!!
So, acknowledge each and every person that you come across, you never know, they may be the blessing Jesus is sending to bring you closer to the desires of your heart, or they may be the one you end up needing help from when you are at wits end!

Embrace the God-life

Jesus was matter-of-fact: "Embrace this God-life.  Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you...pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large.  Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything..."  Mark 11:22-25 MSG

Want everything?
Then, pray for everything!

Faith. FAITH. Faith.

"On your way," said Jesus.  "Your faith has saved and healed you."
Mark 10:52 MSG

Faith in Christ saves one's soul.
Faith in Christ heals one's body; physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Faith in Christ lifts the darkness and shines with brightness.
Faith in Christ empowers, enlightens, lifts the heaviness, increases the joy, energizes the body.

Hence, have faith in God!
It's yours for the taking and it's yours in ample supply if you will use it.

There are no 'ifs' among believers

Jesus says:

"... If? There are no 'ifs' among believers.  Anything can happen." Mark 9:23 MSG

Not, 'If', but 'WHEN':  When your prayers come to pass, when your miracle comes into fruition, when Jesus calls you to do a new thing...WHEN, not IF!  Therefore, whenever you are in prayers or conversation of believing for Jesus to work out something in your life, keep the 'ifs' out of them completely and put the 'whens' in.

Nothing is impossible for those who are in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:13) - God's Word declares it.
