Pride and wickedness will be silenced in due time

"Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows... the wicked will be silenced in darkness."
1 Samuel 2:3,9

Words: Keep them filled with light, keep them filled with life - keep them precious and few.  For, if words are continually spoken in arrogance, darkness, death, pride, and wickedness, then those words will soon be heard no more... God will make sure of it.

Never forget who made your life great

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth...If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify to you today that you will surely be destroyed.”
Deuteronomy 8:18-19

Some harsh words, but it is the way it goes.  Friends, when God keeps handing you victories, then you must keep digging deeper into him, letting NOT the spirit of pride reside and grow within you.  Remember, if you let your pride take over, God will step out, which means the fall of pridefulness and blessings will be coming to you soon.

So hold tight onto God and let go of yourself - for with him lies the victorious life in which you seek to live.

How to become a better you

“… Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering…
… go ahead and be what you were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing yourself with each other, or trying to be something you aren’t.
…. Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it…
… Don’t burn out; keep yourself fueled and aflame. … pray all the harder…
… Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down…
Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody…
…discover beauty in everyone…
…. Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.”
Adapted from Romans 12

If you have time, take some time to read the whole chapter – it can be life-changing and eye-opening to those of us that have forgotten our reasons for being and loving.
Not only that, it will help you become an even better you:  God’s amazing child – God’s amazing steward

Stumbling blocks

"... for [wealth] has been the stumbling block of their iniquity... they turned into pride of it the images of their abominations (idols)..." Ezekiel 7:19-20

Wealth, prosperity, fame, fortune, and the like, can be just as addicting as any drug; once you get a little, you want more, and once you get more, it is still not enough; you begin to pursue them in desperate measure, trampling anyone, and everyone, who tries to get in your way, including God. We need to be on guard toward our pursuits, dreams, desires, and prayers, so that our fleshly wants don't get ahead of us; thus, making sure to know where our priorities lie.

Where are your priorities?  Is your money, as well as, your dreams, prayers, hopes, and desires, in line with the Word of God?  If not, then back off a bit on the pursuits, and press in to God, otherwise the outcome you are so busy fighting for may be exactly the opposite of what you are hoping.

Make sure God is the center of everything you want, so that your hopes and prayers not only comes to pass, but come to pass in extraordinary measures; over and above anything you could dare hope for or imagine.

Self-righteousness, arrogance, haughtiness - pride: God's enemies

"Do you get it, Mister Pride? I'm your enemy!...Mister Pride will fall flat on his face..." Jeremiah 50:31-32 MSG

Self-righteousness, arrogance, haughtiness - pride: God's enemies and all prerequisites for big falls.

Trust, faith, hope, and dependence on God:  God's allies and all prerequisites for big victories.

Arrogance and pride

“But then the strength and success went to his head.  Arrogant and proud he fell…” +2 Chronicles 26:16-18, MSG

Arrogance and pride:  Two characteristics guaranteed to lead one to their downfall.

Pride and false, futile glory

“… The Lord, the God of hosts, says: I abhor, reject, and despise the pride and false, futile glory… “ Amos 6:8 AMP

God despises pride and selfish proclaimed glory!  If you are a child of God and you live and breathe for Him, then there is no need to brag of yourself; your life already shines with His glory!  Therefore, if you find yourself constantly patting your own back, bragging on your personal accomplishments, then zip it, and ask yourself if you are haughty and prideful. If you find you are, repent of it, have the determination to change, and ask God for His mighty help – He’ll come running to your aid.

As a child of God there is no need to brag about ourselves, He shines ever so brightly through us, and His light needs no bragging.  Nonetheless, we sometimes get so caught up into our own-selves that it blocks His light from shining through. So, just remember to keep God first and foremost! Give Him all the glory, and the shining light He brings into your life will speak immensely into the hearts and minds of others – no words necessary.

A heart filled with pride

"The pride of your heart has deceived you..." Obadiah 2 AMP

Symptoms of pride spoken in the book of Obadiah include: violence; arrogance; coldness; hate; stealing; gloat; rejoicing over one's misfortune; etc. However, there are so many more symptoms of pride, and that is where you need to make time for a good ol' one-on-one with the Lord.  Ask Him to, and let Him, show you parts of your life where you need to rise higher, repent, make good, apologize, change your behavior, or make changes of the people you associate with; He will tell you, He will help you, and He will pour His forgiveness over you and give you favor to make good on the hurt you've done.  On the other hand, if you fail to rid yourself of pride, then unfortunately, my friend, "As you have done, it shall be done to you; your dealings will return upon your head.". (Obadiah 15 AMP)

Pride is a choice one makes to do, or not to do.  Make the choice not to be prideful! Your life will be more peaceful and peace-filled, you will bear much fruit, and you will have a glorious future that you can look forward to with a bold, God-Almighty filled confidence of which can never be taken away from you - less, of course, you decide to freely give that confidence away to the enemy.

Sheer humility

“But when his heart was lifted up and his mind and spirit were hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne and his glory was taken from him.” Daniel 5:20 AMP

Always remember the Why you are where you are; the Who, who got you to where you are; and the How, as in the how you do what you do so well, (your gifts and talents).  God is the one who pours blessings upon you, opens doors of opportunities for you, fills your bank accounts with money, gives you homes that seem like mansions to some, and surrounds people around you who love, adore, and accept you; you, in yourself, have no part of it.

Therefore, always make sure to give the credit where the credit is due – God, and God alone.  If you fail to do so, you may find yourself beginning to take the glory for God’s good works in your life, making it easy for your gloating to become prideful and haughty - and if that happens, then God will remind you, my friend, and sheer humility will be yours to deal with accordingly.

In a nutshell.

Ezekiel, Chapters 24 – 26, in a nutshell:

The evil, vengeance, pride, haughtiness, contempt, arrogance, hurt, destruction, death, resentment, un-forgiveness, rejection, darkness and desolation, that you bring onto others, will eventually be brought back onto you; less you stop immediately, seek forgiveness from God, turn from your wicked ways, and begin to do what the Word of God tells you to do.

My friend, if you knowingly continue in your current sins, and do not decide to stop and seek the forgiveness of God, then you will pay the price!  Guaranteed!

What is iniquity?

“Behold, this was the iniquity…: pride, overabundance of food, prosperous ease, and idleness…neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” Ezekiel 16:49 AMP

Take a few moments and make sure that you don’t fall into one of these categories, either physically or mentally: conceit/pride; overabundance/overindulgence in food – hence, stinginess; ease and idleness – hence, laziness; or ignorant and selfish of others who are hurting, in need, or less fortunate.  If you do fall into one or more of the above, then it’s time for some change, and now is a great time to start. Begin by stepping down from your pedestal and stepping into the character God has created you to be; be a help to others (emotionally and/or physically), share your abundances, and lend a helping hand when you can.  Start now, before your selfish works come back to haunt you.

Remember, you are personally called by God, so answer His call - be giving, be loving, be helpful, and be a honorable and integral child of our Most High God.  Once you do, your life will change, your eyes will open, and you will personally experience the glory of His smile shining brightly over your life.

Arrogance and pride: two ways to self-destruction

“And I, the Lord… will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease…” Isaiah 13:11

As humans we need to be constantly on guard against the temptations of becoming prideful and arrogant by regularly staying in the Word of God and being in constant prayer and devotion with the Lord, both of which lead to more of His wisdom, knowledge and strength.  However, if we refuse to refrain from being arrogant and prideful, then there is no doubt that God will put an end to our ungodly mannerisms in His way, and friends, life won’t be fun; 'humbled' will be a gentle way of describing the events that will undoubtedly take place in our near futures.

Therefore, stay gentle, be loving and compassionate, and never forget who is in control.  Instead of fighting back in arrogance and pride, fight back with the strength found in God and in His Word, and you will always come out on top of any, and all, circumstances that happen to you in life.

Six things that God hates, seven are an abomination...

“These six things the Lord hates indeed, seven are an abomination…,
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness…, and he who sows discord among his brethren.”
Proverbs 6:16-19

It is a fact, God hates: pride, lying, killing, wickedness, evil, and evil instigators.  If you happen to be in the midst of doing any of these, or are one of these, then back out now! It is time to humbly repent to the Lord and let Him cleanse you of your sins! Then, do whatever it takes to rectify the situation(s).  Otherwise, I assure you, if you continue in anything that God hates, your life will be a daily living hell, and living like that, my friend, won’t be fun.

Words, actions, thoughts, and attitudes.

“…speak not with a stiff neck and insolent arrogance.” Psalm 75:5

The Bible talks so much about our words, thoughts, attitudes, and actions, therefore, it is in our best interest to take note of what is written, because, good or bad, we will eventually face the consequences of them all.

Pride vs Humility ~ Death vs Life

“When Rehoboam humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him.”
+2 Chronicles 12:12

Pride equals the absence of God in one’s life: Hence, death and destruction.

Humility equals the presence of God in one’s life: Hence, life and victory.
