Attitudes change everything

"So the Lord said to Solomon, "Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates."

1 Kings 11:11

Your attitude can make or break you...

How is yours right now???

Keeping our word

"... Did I not make you swear by the Lord and worn you...?" At  that time you said to me, 'What you say is good, I  will obey.' Why then did you not keep your oath to the Lord and obey the command I gave you?"

1 Kings 2:42-43

Why waste your precious time and the precious time of others promising things that you have no intention of following through with?  

Hence, if you don't mean it, DON'T SAY IT.

When God gives you direction, follow it!

"...so David inquired of the Lord, and he answered..." 2 Samuel 5:23

"...David did as the Lord commanded him..." 2 Samuel 5:25

How did David become so mighty, powerful, and anointed?   Two ways: First, he inquired of God before he made any drastic decisions, and second, he did what the Lord told him to do - hence he had all trust and had faith in the Lord for his plans and endeavors.   So, my point, you ask?  Simple: seek God first, (first, and, did I mention, first), then do what God tells you to do without looking around for different answers - PERIOD.

What God tells you to do: listen and do.

"Did I not tell tell the messengers you sent to me, "Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord - and I must say only what the Lord says?"

Numbers 24:13

No matter how enticing the offer may be, no matter how desperately you long to have what is being given, if the Lord has told you not to accept, then you mustn't accept.  Yes, it seems so hard to say 'no' at the moment, but God has a plan - trust him!  

Therefore, with all might, courage, and confidence, say, 'no thank you', turn and walk away.

To go or stay?

“At the Lord’s command they encamped, and at the Lord’s command they set out...”

Numbers 9:23

Plain and simple:  

If God doesn’t tell you to go, then don’t go.  If God doesn’t tell you to stay, then don’t stay.

He will be your voice.

“But the Lord said to me, Say not, I am only a youth; for you shall go to all to whom I shall send you and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

Be not afraid of them [their faces], for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.” Jeramiah 1:7-8

I know what it is like to be intimidated, to feel weak, to be afraid, to want to run and hide; yes, I know how these feelings can tear you down, inside and out.  However, like God spoke to Jeramiah, He’s speaking to you, saying, “You are not un-qualified, you are not too weak, you are not too short, too fat, too ugly… No, you are My child!  Therefore, you are qualified, you are strong, you are beautiful, you are amazing, and you are blessed; do not let their faces, actions, attitudes frighten you in any sort of fashion.  NO, my child, you keep moving forward, you keep following Me, and you will be rewarded more than those cynics could ever expect to be.”.

Friends, God gives us gifts we don’t even know about yet.  So, if you feel that you are moving in the direction that God wants you to go, then keep moving and keep doing; He will put the words in your mouth when you need them, and He will put the actions in your heart when the time comes to use them.

God won’t let you down – He won’t let you fail!

 

God has cleared the way

Because you listen and follow the commands of God, your God, there is no need to fear.  He will bring you into the promised land that is yours. He has cleared the path before you and He has given you the strength to conquer those who come against you; do not be intimidated by them, for you will conquer them.  Yes, because you listen and follow the commands of God, your God, He loves you, He blesses you, He increases you - there is not one person, not one obstacle, that will be able to overtake you.

When to move and when to stay.

“… The People of Israel marched at God’s command and they camped at his command… Night or day, it made no difference – when the cloud lifted they marched… as long as the cloud was there, they were there…” Numbers 9:17-23, The Message

When God speaks to us (each our own uniquely different ways) then we must move, or we must stay.  Yes, when God speaks to us, we don’t need to waste our precious time questioning, pondering, or analyzing what He is saying – we must only do it!  My friends, God is one we never doubt, He is always right, and He will never lead us in the wrong direction.  Therefore, do what He tells you to do and don’t do what He tells you not to do.

Just as God commands

“… they had done all the work just as God commanded. “… and the glory of God filled the Dwelling.” Exodus 39:42-43 & 40:34-35, The Message

When you do what God tells you to do, the way He tells you to do it, and how He tells you to do it, you can rest assured that His glory will fill your work and fill it for many in the world to see.

 

Skills

"... I've given the skills to make all the things I've commanded you..." Exodus 31: 6-11,  

The Message

It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, how much money you have, or don't have, when God leads to do something, He will make sure you have the skills to get it done.  

Therefore, be bold and follow God's lead without losing heart, and, remember, when you get to a point that you don't think you have the ability to accomplish what you've set out to do, cry out to God, He'll step in and give you, or give you someone, with the ability to do what needs to be done.

When God commands it

"The Israelites then went and did what God had commanded..." Exodus 12:28, The Message

When God commands it, follow the likes of the Israelites, and just DO IT!!  I guarantee, it is in your best interest to do so.

Outside actions vs. the inside heart

“…I did not speak to your fathers… concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.  But this thing I did command them: Listen and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people; and walk in the whole way that I command you, that it may be well with you.”

Jeramiah 7:22-23

Whatever outward actions you are doing to try an impress God (and probably people), please STOP!  Honestly, you are wasting your time.  God judges by the heart, and whether or not you listen to His callings, as well as, do what He is telling you to do.  Yes, you may be able to fool people, but there is absolutely no way in the world you can fool Him.  Therefore, make sure you have a right heart for God; listen when He speaks to you, and boldly, very boldly, do what He asks you to do.  Then, my friend, it will be well with you, and you will undoubtedly know that He IS your very precious God.
