What God tells you to do: listen and do.

"Did I not tell tell the messengers you sent to me, "Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord - and I must say only what the Lord says?"
Numbers 24:13

No matter how enticing the offer may be, no matter how desperately you long to have what is being given, if the Lord has told you not to accept, then you mustn't accept.  Yes, it seems so hard to say 'no' at the moment, but God has a plan - trust him!
Therefore, with all might, courage, and confidence, say, 'no thank you', turn and walk away.

Put the dead-life behind you

Leave everything that doesn’t produce fruit in your life, (or everything that doesn’t produce life in your life), and follow Jesus - leave everything and follow your heart. Hence, leave the bad and follow the good – follow Jesus.

Stop looking at the what-if’s and look at the Will-Do instead.  Go for it and don’t look back.

Be still and listen

“… And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.”
-1 Kings 19:11-12 ESV

Whether we are in severe trial or tribulation,  or wonderful peace and contentment, God is with us.  Therefore, during each scenario, good or bad, we must get out of ourselves and the world, and we must take time to stand completely still and quiet before God and LISTEN - listen closely - because God is speaking to us and until we quiet our minds we won’t be able to hear his gentle whispers with the answers and prayers we are seeking answers to.

Let them talk all they want

Let them talk all they want, and not to worry, they won’t get away with it.  Their fate will soon reign down upon them and destroy their wayward lies and deceits:

“… They’ll say anything, anything, that sounds good to exploit you.  They won’t, of course, get by with it.  They’ll come to a bad end, for God has never just stood by and let that kind of thing go on.”
-2 Peter 2:2-3 MSG

Disordered eating and body image

“…Then a voice came: “Go to it, Peter—kill and eat.”
Peter said, “Oh, no, Lord. I’ve never so much as tasted food that was not kosher.”
The voice came a second time: “If God says it’s okay, it’s okay.”

Acts 10:9-13, 14, 15 MSG

With so many of us struggling with dieting, exercise, overeating, undereating, not eating at all, binging, purging, restricting, etc., etc., it’s due time for the insanity to stop!

Please join me and let’s start living out loud, being ourselves, and embrace our imperfections and strengths as they are.  Let’s stop trying to be perfect, stop competing with ourselves and others, and let’s live life as if we won’t be here tomorrow, embracing God like we’ve never embraced him before.

Forget the past - it's over and done with

“Let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back…” Hebrews 12:1 (LB)

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Isaiah 43:18 (NIV

“Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…” Philippians 3:13 (NLT)

As we can read, the Word of God clearly wants us to put the past behind us and move forward with our lives.  Therefore, if you are, in any way, stuck (frustrated, hurt, angry, depressed, dark, lonely, rejected, hopeless, discouraged, etc.,) then heeding the verses above is of the utmost importance!  The past, whether good or bad, can be looked at as stepping stones, learning curves, and blessing builders for a great future ahead.  So, although it may be difficult at first, change your mind and focus toward your future and know that the past happened just as it was supposed to happen; for if you wouldn’t have experienced what you did, you wouldn’t have the necessary experience to become the great person of God that you were called to be.

My friend, God loves you and he has a great plan allotted just for you.

Wrong way! Turn back!

“…Turn back – right now, each one of you! – from your evil way of life and bad behavior, and live the land God gave you and your ancestors, the land he intended to give you forever…” Jeremiah 2:4-6 MSG

Turn away from sin, turn to God.  He has so much to offer and give you – so much better then you have now.

It will happen for you

“God-of-the-Angel-Armies speaks:
“Exactly as I planned,
It will happen.
Following my blueprints,
It will take shape…”
God-of-the-Angel-Armies has planned it.
Who could ever cancel such plans?
His is the hand that’s reached out.
Who could brush it aside?”
Isaiah 14:24-27

God has many plans for each and every one of us - those that believe in him, and worship him with all that we are, are planned to prosper in all things good and God-given.  So, although in the natural it may not seem like it, as God’s child it is just a matter of time before one of his many plans come to pass – it will happen.  As well, although it may not seem like it, you are blessed in whatever moment of your life you are at right now, it is just a matter of time before you realize it.

Go and be blessed today.

Whatever was, is. Whatever will be, is.

"I've also concluded that whatever God does, that's the way it's going to be, always.  No addition, no subtraction.  God's done it and that's it.  That's so we'll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear.
Whatever was, is.
Whatever will be, is.
That's how it always is with God."
Ecclesiastes 3: 14-15

Hence, my friends, stop wasting time asking why things happen, when will things happen, and how you can make things happen. God will do what he's going to do - that's it, nothing you can do to change it.  So, instead, be thankful for the moment, enjoy what you've got, worship God without question, and know that good or bad, God knows what he is doing.

Just wait, this is going to work out!

"Just wait, this is going to work out for the best - my salvation!" Job 13:16

Whatever is going on in your life, good or bad, is exactly what is supposed to be going on in your life.  God knows your every move, your every step, your every hurt, your every fear, your every win, and your every loss - He's known since before you were born.  So, hang tight through all of it and always know that God has a plan, and, his perfect plan is working out for the best -your salvation - in your life right now.

Good days - bad days

"... We take the good days from God - why not also the bad days?"  Job, MSG

Why do we embrace the good days God gives us, and then act like unloved victims and loathe in our misery when we have the bad days? Simply, because we are human and we are selfish.  However, what we need to focus on during the bad days is that God has reasons for every moment in our lives.  So, instead of looking outward and pointing the finger on everyone else for our problems, our bad days, let's begin to point the finger internally and seeking God to figure out what steps we need to take in order to turn our bad days into blessed days.

Let's embrace the good days along with the bad days, seek God, stay out of the victim mentality, and wait for the blessings that God has in store for us.

Real faith

Image result for real faith image

“… Real faith cannot be reduced to spiritual bromides and merchandised in success stories.  It is refined in the fires and storms of pain.”
Quoted out of The Message, by Eugene H. Peterson

Real faith comes from living for, and believing in God during the good, bad, and ugly times of our lives.

God is part of it all

“… God was behind it…” Genesis 45:4-8, The Message

Whatever has happened, will happen, and is happening, are all part of God’s great plans for your life.  Whether it seem good or bad, big or small, God is involved; God has reasons for everything, and when you His child, all of His reasons work out in greatness.

So, stand tall and know that your life is absolutely amazing – God wouldn’t let you have anything less.

Joy and hope through the good, bad, and the ugly times of life.

“… let us rejoice and exult in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God.  Moreover, let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.  And endurance produces joyful and confident hope that never disappoints or deludes or shames us.” Adapted from Romans 5:3-5 AMP

As God’s children, we should make it a priority to stay joyful and hopeful during the good, bad, and ugly times of life.  Yes, much easier said than done, especially during the hard times in our lives, but no matter the situation, God is with you, and that alone should calm ones soul.  I believe that if we can look for the joy in every situation, and hope in the Lord for all things to turn out good and blessed, then there will be no situation, dire or otherwise, that will be able to keep us from the joyful, peaceful, prosperous, loving, and abundantly blessed life that God has planned for us.
