Stop being pitiful

You've been feeling sorry for yourself long enough.  It's time to move on - get over it; it is time to be on your way to new and better things in life.

Getting back on solid ground

"... Then they returned to their inheritance and rebuilt the towns and settled in them."  

Judges 21:23

Sometimes we get so far off course that the only thing we can do is let everything go and start anew.  Sometimes we need to get out of the world altogether, step back on our foundation of God, and rebuild our lives piece by piece.  Yes, sometimes, we need to start over - completely.

A new light dawns

"...the people living in the darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."

Matthew 4:16

God placed this verse on my heart this morning, and the more I read it, the more this makes sense:  Those of us that have been living in darkness (weary, down, depressed, hopeless, sad, lonely, fearful, etc.) need to look up, step out, lift our heads, open our hearts, and breath in the Word of God.  It is our time to make some choices by turning onto a new path, grasping hold of Jesus, and begin to live again.  There is no more time for darkness, dark people, dark hearts, or dark minds.  Our time is now!  Yes, our time is right now!!  

So get a grip, take a chance, and do something with this life - something like this:

LIVE!!!!!

Now GO! God is with you.

“Now go; I will help you speak and teach you what to say.”

Exodus 4:12

Go, my friend.  Do not fear and by all means don’t look back.  

Let not one persons doubt ruin your faith in Christ; let not yourself doubt your faith, your abilities, your heart!! 

Yes, go forward my friend.  It is time.  God will be your eyes, ears, words... LIFE.  Let him take the lead, you just follow along.  Victory is yours and this new chapter in your life is going to shine with the bright glory of God for all the world to see and experience.

Change is here

"...Get rid of the foreign gods you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes."

Genesis 35:2

It's time!  If life is unfruitful for you and you've been doing nothing but running in the same circle only to become more unhappy and un-fruitful, then change is due.  Step out, grab Jesus, start fresh, and begin again.  It is never too late, you are never too old, and life is always too short not to.  Go for it!  God's got your new beginning waiting for you.

What I believe about myself, is what my life will reflect.  Therefore, I will think of myself the way God thinks of me: beautiful, fresh, new, honored, fruitful, loved, important, whole, forgiven, wise, prosperous, mighty, strong, healthy, full of light, and blessed.   Yes, I think nothing less than these, because God thinks of me nothing less than these.

It's a new year, a new year. Forget what lies behind (Phil 3:13) and move forward with the life that Jesus has died to give you.  You are forgiven, you are redeemed, you are made clean, and, most of all, you are God's precious child - made in His likeness for greatness!

Try something new

"... Break up your ground left uncultivated for a season, so that you may not sow among thorns." Jeremiah 4:3

It is time to try something new; step out onto new ground. If your life seems to keep going in the same old circle and you can't seem to get  ahead, then maybe some new stomping ground is your ticket.

Yes, I know that trying a new road is always a scary move, but if you have any sort of inkling, or knowing, that it is something God is prompting you to do, then give it a go; if you honestly feel God has placed something in your heart, then I guarantee He won't let you fail.  Plus, if you step out in the wrong direction, I promise that He will step in and make sure you find your way.  

Your life doesn't have to keep hitting dead ends, there is new ground for you to stomp on!  So, pray about it, listen for His guidance, and then take that first big, bold step - He'll take hold of you from there!

What starts in the heart comes out the mouth

What's coming out of your mouth lately:  Good or evil; life or death; love or hate; joy or sadness; truth or lies; faith or doubt; sickness or healing...?  Begin to listen to your words, hold yourself accountable, and if its time for a heart transplant, then Jesus is the doctor to go to - it's time for a new heart.

The moment you ask God

The moment you ask God to come into your heart, forgive you your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness, here’s what happens:

“… I’ll pour water over you and scrub you clean.  I’ll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you.  I’ll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that’s God-willed, not self-willed… you’ll be my people! I’ll be your God!” (Jeremiah 36:24-28 MSG)

God is so good and he loves you so much. 

Receive him as your Lord and Savior; it’s time for you to live the shining life that the is going to give you;

No matter how far off path you’ve gotten; no matter what sins you’ve committed, it is never too late to run back to God.  He forgives you and he will never turn his back on you.  So, run to him and let him rebuild your life – he will, he wants to, he is waiting for you to ask.  So… ASK!  And, once you do, boy-oh-boy, life will really begin, and it will a life worth living for.

Today is a new beginning

“… Now make your confession to God, the God of your ancestors, and do what he wants you to do…” Ezra 10:10-11, MSG

Stop living in sin!  Repent to God, make some changes, and start living and enjoying this great life he has given you.

The Unconventional

“Elisha sent out a servant to meet him with this message: “Go to the River Jordan and immerse yourself seven times. Your skin will be healed and you’ll be as good as new.” Naaman lost his temper. He turned on his heel saying, “I thought he’d personally come out and meet me, call on the name of God, wave his hand over the diseased spot, and get rid of the disease. The Damascus rivers, Abana and Pharpar, are cleaner by far than any of the rivers in Israel. Why not bathe in them? I’d at least get clean.” He stomped off, mad as a hornet. But his servants caught up with him and said, “Father, if the prophet had asked you to do something hard and heroic, wouldn’t you have done it? So why not this simple ‘wash and be clean’?” So he did it. He went down and immersed himself in the Jordan seven times, following the orders of the Holy Man. His skin was healed; it was like the skin of a little baby. He was as good as new.”  2 Kings 5:10-14 MSG

God’s miracles, healings, directions, and blessings are like that of no other.  No two will ever be the same.  So, if you have a call on your heart to do something unconventional, something that makes no sense, but you feel strongly about it - then give it a shot.  Your non-conventional move may just be the key to the miracle, healing, direction, or blessing that God has awaiting you.  On the other hand, if nothing comes from your unusual move, then it’s one more notch in your belt of lessons learned, and we can all learn more lessons in life!!

 

Repeating the past is no way to the future.

"... and don't go back the way you came." Then he left by a different road than the one on which he had walked to Bethel." 1 Kings 13:8-10, MSG

If you want your future to be different, and better, than your past, then maybe it is time to try something new - maybe it is time to walk in a direction you never thought of walking before; maybe it is time to try a new path in your life.
