Today the chains are broken

“... “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from among you” ...”
Joshua 5:9

Today is a new day.  The old is gone, the chains are broken, the grass is green, and the light is ever-so-bright.  So open your eyes, hearts, minds, and souls, God has broken the chains of darkness from you and today begins a new day in his amazing freedom - a life which lives in his amazing glory.

God can

“… God had plunged them into a sea of joy; he had changed the mind of the king of Assyria to back them in rebuilding the Temple of God, the God of Israel.”
Ezra 6:21-22, MSG

You may not be able to change someone’s mind, but God can!!

Heart and mind check

“Light is sown for the righteous… and joy for the upright in heart.”  Psalm 97:11

Time for a heart and mind check:  How is your outlook on life, on yourself, on the people in your life?  If they are anything less than optimistic, favorable, peaceful, and/or honorable, then you are only allowing yourself to fall into darkness; sink into depression – don’t let it happen.
Be vigilant with your thoughts, actions, and attitudes and God will fill you with His light, setting you free with His joy.

Trust God with your words

“Resolve and settle in your minds not to meditate and prepare beforehand how you are to make your defense and how you will answer.
For I [Myself] will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that all of your foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute.”
Luke 21:14-15 AMP

Trust God with your words and rely not on your own knowledge or understanding, because, in yourself, your words will drown you; in God, your words will glorify you.

"I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me." Psalm 13:6

Years ago I heard a saying, "Five positives to one negative", and after reading this verse, I've realized that I tend to pray five complaints, upsets, struggles, etc., to one prayer of thankfulness.  Um-mm, there's something wrong with this don't you think? I think i need a complete prayer make-over; what about you?

Join me in committing to pray, EVERYDAY, five thankful and grateful prayers to our one, 'help me', prayers.  Let's see how it changes our outlooks, our attitudes, and our hearts; let's see how God opens our eyes of love, peace, and joy, and closes our minds to hurt, pain, regret, worry, and the like.  Yes, I truly believe by taking on this challenge our lives our drastically going to change.
