When your plans aren’t working out

When you make major life changes in which you are so excited about, and then suddenly they don’t seem to be working out or going the direction you thought, (especially if the change has to do with quitting one job to work your dream job, or packing up and moving your family, or investing in something you were once so sure about.), then true faith and trust in Christ really need to come into play.  These are the moments where you need to hand everything over to God and let him take over.  If some of these decisions were based on your flesh and not God’s voice, then repentance is in order and your whole heart needs to be re-opened.  Yes, it is too late to turn back and start over, however, where you are is where you are is where God knew you would end up.  Therefore, seek, seek, seek, and keep seeking God; you will find him, he has open doors for you, he will not let you fail, and the glory of Him will shine through for you.  Patience and trust are required...yes, patience and trust.

It’s all going to be ok my friend. Hold on, keep moving forward, and although your decisions weren’t from God, now that you have realized it and are turning back to him, he will make your decisions blessed to the utmost and your health, wealth, wisdom, peace, love, and joy, will be filled to the full until they overflow - now and forever-more.

Seek his kingdom and righteousness

“But seek his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Matthew 6:33

Social media, friends, family, bank accounts, careers, sweat, blood, and tears, do not bring dreams to pass – God does!  Therefore seek him first so that everything you want in life will come to pass.  Hence,, unless you seek him first nothing else in your life will ever work out.

Adultry

Adultery destroys marriages, families, friends - lives.  As well, it brings darkness to the soul, tears that take years to go away, and innocent family members and friends left trying to pick up the broken pieces of their once happy lives.  --- Stay away from it!!

Be bold enough to decide right now.

"If you decide that it's a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you'd rather serve - and do it today... As for me and my family, we'll worship God."  Joshua 24:15, The MSG

Either you are in or you are out in worshiping God.  So, be bold enough to decide who you want to worship: the world, some other god, or the one and only - God... and be bold enough to decide right now.

Celebrate

Everything good in your life comes from God, so everything good in your life should be celebrated, enjoyed and, most definitely, shared with others.

Family is family

“Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have fighting between us…  After all, we’re family…” Genesis 13:8-9, The Message, Pg 33

Family quarrels are bound to happen, but family quarrels ought to be settled quickly.  Family is family, and family’s need to stick together.   So, if you and your loves one(s) are in a quarrel, maybe it’s time to turn the other cheek; start declaring blessings over each other, do what needs to be done to make amends, and start standing together as one!  It is time!

When you listen to God...

"God told Abram: "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you. I'll make you a great nation and bless you.  I'll make you famous; you'll be a blessing.  I'll bless those who bless you; those who curse you I'll curse.  All the families of the Earth will be blessed through you." Man is of no comparison to God

“Cease to trust in man… “ Isaiah 2:22

 

It is so important for us to remember that putting our trust, faith, hope –life - in man will only lead to disappointment, despair, hurt, and resentment. Not to mention, putting our complete trust into someone will put and undo pressure on that person, leading to resentment, leading to miscommunication… essentially, a no-win situation for either party.  There is only One that we can rely on, completely, wholly, and with our life in its entirety – God, our Father.  

Who have you been putting your trust, your life, in lately? Is it God, or has it been man, the economy, the government, your family, your friend, etc.?   If your answer is any of latter choices then re-assessment is in order.  Hand yourself, your life, your wants, your hopes, your dreams, your finances, your family, your work, your hurts, and your fears into the hands of The Almighty – when you do, He will take you to new levels that go beyond your comprehension.
