Days of distress

"It may be that the Lord will see my distress and repay me with good for the curse I am receiving today."
2 Samuel 6:12

It's no fun when you feel like you cannot do anything right and everyone notices as well as tells you about it.  However, if you can step outside of yourself and look at it as a way of learning and growing in Christ, then the mistakes you do and the cursing you receive may just turn out to be some of the best blessings and milestones you could ever have asked for.

The Lord God is your life

“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.  Now choose life so that you and your children may live, and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.  For the Lord is your life...”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20

If you want to live, then you must choose life; hence, you must choose God.

However, if you want to live, yet decide to ignore God and not listen to him at all, then you will not live.  Instead, you will be a walking zombie, wandering lost in the world, aimlessly looking for a life - a life in which you will never find.

Whatever happens is because of who or what you believe in.

"If you carefully observe these commands I am giving you to follow - to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his way and to hold fast to him - then the Lord will drive out these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you.  Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend... No man will be able to stand against you.  The Lord your God, as he promised you, will put terror and fear of you on the whole land, wherever you go.

See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse - the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known...  You are about to cross the Jordan to enter and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you.  When you have taken it over and are living there, be sure that you obey all the decrees and laws I am setting before you today."

Take the leap

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

“I will make you into a great nation,
And I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
And you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And whoever curses you I will curse;
And all peoples on earth
Will be blessed through you.”
Genesis 12:1-4

It’s time to go all out for Christ.  Take the leap!!

Is it time for a change?

The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.  I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all the people on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram left, as the Lord had told him…

Genesis 12:1-4

Is it time for a change?  Is God knocking at the door of your heart to move on?  Then go for it – you’ve nothing to lose.

Anyone who curses God...

“… Anyone who curses God will be held accountable…”
 Leviticus 24:13-16 MSG

God is never to be blamed, insulted, cursed or taunted.  He gave His Son for us, and He gave us a life to live.  Therefore, all that is due Him is honor, gratitude, thankfulness, our prayers, and all our love.

God is with you

“… they even hired Balaam to work against them by cursing them, but our God turned the curse into a blessing…”
Nehemiah 13:1-3, MSG

With God before you no one can stand against you: with God on yours side, no worldly human can ruin God’s good plan for you.

Don’t give up, God is with you.

Blessings in disguise

+Blessings in disguise
"…yet our God turned the curse into a blessing.”  Nehemiah 13:2

Whatever seemingly seems to be cursing (plaguing, ailing) you right now is not what it seems!!
Remember, the Word of God is truth; God never lies! Therefore, if you are a believer in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and remain steadfast and faithful to Him, then this so-called, curse, will soon be your triumphant blessing in disguise.

The tongue is a fire

"And the tongue is a fire... With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God's likeness! Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing.  These things, my brethren, ought not to be so." James 3: 6, 9-10 AMPC

Our tongues can lift up, tear down, bless, curse, love, hate, win, lose, help, and hurt; our tongues can bless lives, or ruin lives.  So, let's take some drastic measure to keep our words full of life, full of praise, full of love, full of blessings, and full of kindness.  Yes, it is easier said than done, but if we want all that God has to offer for our lives, it is something we must do.  So, starting today, let's put a bridle on our tongues, and make sure that all the words we speak are good and God-approved... guaranteed, it is definitely worth our while.
