Zip your lips

“I will show partiality to no one

Let's stop worrying about what everyone else is doing

“… This “insider world” is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.”

Since the world isn’t spending eternity doing what we are doing, wondering what we are doing, or wanting to do what we are doing, then we truly need to stop doing the same - trying so hard to fit in and pretending to be people we were not meant to be.  Friends, Jesus made us who we are and that’s that – period!

Therefore, spend your precious time worrying about eternity with Christ: be yourself fully and honestly, taking  your priceless time living the pleasant and enjoyable life God has graciously given you.

Restraint

“…he who utters slander is a fool… but he who restrains his lips is prudent.”

Proverbs 10:18-19

As the old saying goes, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”!

 

Do not Fear! God's got your back!

"...one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips.  Then I opened my mouth and spoke... Then there touched me again one whose appearance was like that of a man, and he strengthened me.... 

Fear not!..."

When you can't speak, God will speak through you! When you are weak, God will strengthen you!  Therefore, fear not in this world - God is with you, He is for you, and through Him, you can do all things that He has set out for you to do!

DO NOT FEAR - GOD'S GOT YOUR BACK!!

A good way to fail

“He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.” Proverbs 13:3

Wealth won in haste or unjustly or … for vain or detrimental use will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase.” 

Proverbs 13:11

Yep, a big mouth and selfish desires are two good ways to make sure you do NOT succeed in life.

Standards to live by

“Lying lips are extremely disgusting and hateful to the Lord, but they who deal faithfully are His delight.” Proverbs 12:22

“The hand of the diligent [steadfast, conscientious, purposeful, busy, careful] will rule…” Proverbs 12:24

Hold yourself to the these standards: honest, ethical, trustworthy, diligent, and pure; because not only can being a leader be amazing, but being a delight to God is the highest goal in life to strive for!!

 

Keeping guard.

“Set a guard, O Lord, before my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.  Incline my heart not to submit or consent to any evil thing…” 

Psalm 141:3,4

If each of us can pray this prayer, receive this prayer, and act on this prayer, then the world would have one less wicked scheme, word, or deed to put up with!

So, commit yourself to this prayer from this day forward and see if it doesn’t help change the world around you (for the better)!!
