Great success

"Saul was afraid of David because the Lord was with David...  In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him."

When you follow the Lord with all your heart, mind, body, and spirit, success is yours and the enemies that stand against you flee from you in fear.

Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.

Warn others before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value and only ruins those who listen.

Avoid godless chatter.

Turn away from wickedness.

Flee from evil. 

Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace.

Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments.

Remember, quarreling, godless chatter, wickedness, evil, and foolishness and stupid arguments, all have one ending - RUIN! - and the person(s) choosing to engage in such activity will soon find such fate.  

Therefore, stay away!!

Guard your heart 

Time for a little personal inventory. What is your passion? What are you chasing? What are you thinking about just before you fall asleep? What is your most valuable possession? What would you dread most to lose? What do you have the burn for? 

You probably have quite a bit of sales resistance. You need to or you would go crazy in our materialistic and marketing-mad world. You know not to believe the pitch for every product and service that comes at you. 

Realize that Satan is going to look for any opening or crack in your armor to push or pull you away from Christ. Use your sales resistance on Satan. “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23). Learn to distinguish his tempting voice. See his promises as lies; see his threats as empty; see his pleasures as what they really are--bribes to induce you to commit spiritual suicide. 

Guard your heart by filling it with the gospel. Claim and celebrate and prize God’s unconditional love. Think often of Christ’s full and free forgiveness of your sins. Fuel up with the Spirit’s fire. When the wellspring of your heart is healthy, all your relationships and possessions will be in the right place. More God, less Satan.

Our God-given, God-blessed lives

Isaiah 35:

3 Energize the limp hands, strengthen the rubbery knees.

4 Tell fearful souls, "Courage! Take heart! God is here, right here, on his way to put things right And redress all wrongs.

He's on his way! He'll save you!"

5 Blind eyes will be opened, deaf ears unstopped,

6 Lame men and women will leap like deer, the voiceless break into song. Springs of water will burst out in the wilderness,

streams flow in the desert.

7 Hot sands will become a cool oasis, thirsty ground a splashing fountain. Even lowly jackals will have water to drink, and barren grasslands flourish richly.

8 There will be a highway called the Holy Road. No one rude or rebellious is permitted on this road. It's for God's people exclusively –

impossible to get lost on this road. Not even fools can get lost on it.

9 No lions on this road, no dangerous wild animals - Nothing and no one dangerous or threatening. Only the redeemed will walk on it.

10 The people God has ransomed will come back on this road. They'll sing as they make their way home to Zion, unfading halos of joy encircling their heads, Welcomed home with gifts of joy and gladness as all sorrows and sighs scurry into the night.

Today is a new day! Put yesterday behind you and begin anew.  Great things are in store for you – God’s child.  Open your eyes and ears to him and he’ll open your eyes and ears to his blessings, ones you didn’t even realize you already have, and answers to questions that you didn’t realize have been answered.    Be bold, stand tall, and remember Whose you are, where you come from and the great future you have ahead of you.  It is your time!  It is your God-given, God-blessed life – own it, live it, enjoy it, and embrace it.

This is your year!!

“And a highway shall be there… it shall be called the Holy Way… the redeemed shall walk on it… everlasting joy shall be upon their head… and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” 

Isaiah 35:8-10

It’s time to turn off of 2014 and turn on to 2105 – a new way, a new start, a new direction! 

Throw out the unnecessary baggage from 2014; there is a brand new life in front of you, a holy life, a life full of Jesus – hence, a life full of blessings, forgiveness, love, joy, gladness, peace, and a whole lot’a grace. 

 

Yes, this is your year!  So, slide on in next to Jesus, buckle your seat belt, hold on, and start driving!!
