Turst - Delight - Commit

"Trust in the Lord and do good.  Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.  Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires.  Commit everything you do to the Lord.  Trust him, and he will help you.  He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun."
Psalm 37:3-6

Trust in, delight in, and commit yourself to the Lord. For when you do, the desires of your heart and the prayers that you pray will come to pass.  God's word says so, and his words never-ever lie.

Mediocrity will not do.

"... If you are returning to the Lord with all your hearts, then rid yourselves of the foreign gods... commit yourselves to the Lord and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."
1 Samuel 7:3

Either give yourself completely over to God or don't.  Make the choice!  Mediocrity will not do anymore.

Word of the day: Commit

"...Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday.…"
~ Psalm 37:4-6 NAS

ALIVE

“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree… they shall bring forth fruit… they shall be full of sap (vitality) and verdure (freshness).” Psalm 92:12-14

When you commit yourself to the Lord, your life becomes ALIVE!

Defiance against God.

"But the person, native, or foreigner, who sins defiantly, deliberately blaspheming God, must be cut off from his people: He has despised God's word, he has violated God's command; that person must be kicked out of the community, ostracized, left alone in his wrongdoings." Numbers 15:30-31, The Message

Defiance of God and His Word only brings calamity on ones own-self, and on loved ones.  So, tread extremely lightly my friend if you knowingly decide to sin, because the sin you commit will, (and let me emphasize will), without fail, come back and bite you right in the fanny.

Why commit this great evil?

“Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves… Why do you provoke Me to anger with the works (idols) of your own hands…?” Jeremiah 44:7,8 AMP

Let’s think about this?  Why do we sin, which is, in essence, committing evil?  Really, though, why?  All it does to ourselves, and, sometimes, other innocent victims involved, is cause trouble, produce hurt, and generate resentment, anger, and the like.  It is amazing to me how we can fall so easily when the consequences can be so severe.

For me, I can honestly answer that a lot of my sin is from wanting to be in control, and to avoid confrontation and/or hurt.  However, the more I think about it, the more I realize that when I’m in control, things end up in a mess; and when I try to avoid confrontation, it always comes back to smack me in the face, making the confrontation double of what it could have been.  What about you?  What makes you fall into sin easily?  Well, whatever it is, I think it is of the utmost importance that we seriously think before we speak and/or act.

So, is sinning really worth the pain, hurt, resentment, anger, malice… evil?  I have to answer, “No!”.  Therefore, join me in taking more time to think about our actions, and our words; I honestly think that it will transition the world around us into a much more gentle, peaceful, loving; hence, God-like, place.
